The rest of the house is made up of an open plan first floor living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area and a utility room. To the outside of the cottage is off road parking for one car and a small patio area, stone seating and table The View would suit a family or group of friends looking for a holiday home close to the beach.

Enjoy exciting beach activities too with National Sailing Academy a few minutes’ walk from your home. The waters around Portland are perfect for kite surfing, scuba diving and angling. It doesn’t matter the weather, the views over the Chesil beach are stunning may it be windy or quiet. You may enjoy having a walk on the Cheisl bank with waves crashing to the shore. Formerly a quarrying area, Fortuneswell boasts a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, along with an intriguing maze of streets that wind their way up a steep hill to offer stunning views of the Jurassic Coast and the rolling hills of Dorset beyond. The surrounding countryside is well known as a birdwatcher’s paradise, plus with great walking and climbing opportunities, an array of watersport activities, wonderful sandy beaches, and Weymouth just 5 miles away, this super holiday destination is not to be missed!

Loved the high spec property. From the picture window there were stunning views! The location was great for Weymouth beach, Bennetts water gardens, the Jailhouse Cafe, Portland light house and more. Also had a great boat trip from Weymouth followed by eating at Les Enfants Terrible on the marina. The food at the Lobster Pot was as good as described by reviews. The stoney beach was a short walk down a steep hill close to the house. So many people fishing! I suggest you ask for a second key if you intend to do early morning runs or come in late at night (while the others of your group sleep) as you either end up locked into the property or the door is left unlocked (no letterbox)! One shock was having a guest slow worm appear in the house - thinking it was a snake! Useful to know - only 4 dining chairs for a 6 people accomodation.
