The Retreat is a well-presented and cosy cottage set over three levels, offering accommodation for a family or two couples (maximum four adults) in the centre of Dartmouth in quiet Lake Street (just off Victoria Road). You are able to park directly outside for unloading/loading your car, and there is close on-street parking (some restrictions might apply), along with a large car park three minutes away. The cottage is accessed directly from Lake Street and via three steps into a lounge/kitchen area. The cosy lounge has original oak flooring, an L-shaped leather sofa, fireplace with integral light, wall-mounted Smart TV, unlimited highspeed broadband and a dining table with four chairs. The galley kitchen has a range of well-equipped units, a four-ring ceramic hob, electric oven, slimline dishwasher, fridge, microwave and toaster. Stairs lead up to the first floor from the lounge area with integral stairgate at the top. On the first floor is a twin bedroom with original oak flooring, chest of drawers and a TV, housing all child-friendly equipment. The landing leads to a family bathroom with bath, shower over, WC, hand wash basin and heated towel rail. Also on the first floor is a built-in cupboard with washer/dryer, small freezer, iron, table board, clothes airer and combination boiler, providing unlimited hot water. Stairs with an integral gate lead to the second floor to a double bedroom with en-suite cloakroom, built into the roof space enjoying a Velux window, exposed beams and more original oak flooring, with a king-size bed, chest of drawers, built-in wardrobe, TV and coffee making facility. Double doors open out to a delightful wide decking area over two levels, with a patio table, four chairs and four reclining chairs, perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks. The town’s famous waterfront can be easily reached in just a few minutes for a wide selection of pubs, restaurants and shops or for boat trips, crabbing or simply to watch the world go by.
Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the stunning Start Bay coastline, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many popular events such as the annual Dart Music Festival, Dartmouth Food Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This historic town boasts interesting landmarks, such as Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College, and the National Trust’s Greenway House just a short ferry ride away. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through the rolling countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat or ferry trip across to Kingswear, on to Brixham, or down the river to the village of Dittisham. For those seeking sandy beaches, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular beaches just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.

"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
