Lady Bird Retreat is a spacious retreat located near the village of Skinningrove in North Yorkshire. This idyllic shepherd hut will make the perfect base for a romantic getaway, or for those looking to explore the area. As you enter the hut you are welcomed by an open-plan living area, which boasts a well-equipped kitchen, small dining space and a cosy sitting area, posing a woodburning stove. Here, you will also find a TV, WiFi and electric massage seating to ease those tired muscles after a hard day’s walk. To the back of the property is a spacious, comfortable super-king size bed. The shower room within the hut hosts a full-sized cubicle with electric shower, basin and WC. This cottage is ideally situated, where the local shop and pub can be located within a five-minute walk. Moreover, the beach is less than half a mile away where you can watch the birdlife nesting the imposing cliffs or just a little further on enjoy the long golden sandy beach and dunes. From the harbour you can join the renowned Cleveland Way and enjoy a beautiful walk to the seaside spa town of Saltburn with its cliff railway and pier. The location is a fabulous base to explore the coast with Whitby being an easy drive away or venture in land to explore the pretty market towns of Guisborough or Helmsley. Lady Bird Retreat is truly a lovely stay whatever the season.

We stayed here in January for my husbands birthday, it was so relaxing and a lovely little place. Everything you need for a few days away. Hot tub lovely and warm, not overlooked, the only negative is the industry on the other side of the valley. Which on a night have 4 - 6 very bright lights that spoil the otherwise dark sky. A suggestion of some 18" screening from the top of the fence to the height of the little sitting area would block it out. And only on one side. We just ended up sitting with our backs to the lights. But saying that we had a great few days and have booked it again. Would we recommend it, most certainly. Looking forward to returning .
Lovely Shepard’s Hut . Perfect for a couple. Very private and comfortable. Inside was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed in the facilities. Log burner was great really heated up the place and made it cosy. The hot tub was brilliant too and was always hot, I believe it was checked daily but we were never disturbed or even knew anyone was there. WiFi was great. Parking right outside the hut on the private land. Had to call the owner for exact directions to get in as didn’t want to just drive into private land, but he directed us perfectly and stayed on the line till we found where we were going. Really couldn’t fault the place or the owner, everything and everyone we came into contact with was perfect.
