Wow! This place has everything. And I mean everything. Everything from a lemon zester to a washing machine to Netflix. And the location is just beautiful. From the drive up we knew it was special being right in the middle of rolling hills. From the window in the cottage we could see the new lambs running around. Perfect for walkers with public footpaths right from the front door. Behind the cottage is a footpath that will take you to Ilam Hall and on to Dovedale and Thorpe Cloud. And what a lovely, cosy place to return to after a good gruelling walk. A big thank you to Julie. So friendly and welcoming. Thanks for the fizz and the cake. Delicious!

Just returned from this fabulous little cottage. Absolutely loved it and can’t recommend it high enough. Fantastic for our dogs as lots of walks close by. So many baby lambs bouncing around this time of year. This just added to our lovely time. John, Julie and Katie were exceptional and were so welcoming. Lovely cake freshly baked waiting for us on our arrival. A bird feeder is positioned just outside the window where the table and chairs are. It was lovely to watch the birds (and the odd squirrel) enjoying the food. Especially exciting watching the Woodpeckers visit daily. Loved it A+++

Perfect little hideaway. Very quiet location. Converted farm building which is the perfect size for two. All rooms are a good size but not too big. Has lots of lovely character detail plus a wood burning stove. Kitchen has everything including a dish washer. Spotlessly clean. Owners very helpful. WiFi included as is a cake and a bottle of Prosecco! Lots of lovely walks leading off from the farmyard to keep the dogs happy. Looking forward to returning in the future

Just arrived back after staying at Slade Tops for 3 nights and already desperate to stay again. There’s no better location for miles, we drove around the local area and we definitely had the best views. The view from the driveway is brilliant. Loads of walking routes right on the doorstep too. The cottage itself was warm and cosy, very well equipped and brilliant touches such as the lemon drizzle cake made by Julie as a welcome. TV is also very good, very big and has internet connectivity for Netflix etc Bed was very comfy and kitchen was very well kitted out even with milk and Prosecco already in the fridge. And Julie was very attentive with any questions we had. Not one complaint at all, will deffo be coming back thank you John and Julie

Beautifully off the beaten track for those of you wanting peace and quiet! Lovely, snug cottage that was complete with some great extra unexpected touches....a yummy plate of homemade chocolate brownies plus a bottle of Prosecco nicely chilled in the fridge.....a great welcome!! So welcoming for our dog, Poppy too, with a bed and bowls, that meant she had three beds to choose from....yes she is spoilt!! There are wonderful walks from here too, so you don't need to leave this snug little cottage if you don't want to, or walk your dog when you've come back from a day out. Being off the beaten track is a great bonus too if you just want peace and quiet, although it's only a few minutes drive from the nearest shops and pubs. We had a lovely relaxing break here, nice days out exploring and then lovely cosy evenings in.....what more can you ask for?
