In the summer months, a ferry runs across the Torridge estuary to the village of Instow where there is a pretty beach, as well as a yacht club and yet more eateries and pubs. Just two miles away, visitors will find the impressive two mile wide sandy beach at Westward Ho!, which is a fantastic place for families, beach lovers, and surfers alike. Skern Lodge, an activity centre providing a wide range of outdoor activities is on the outskirts of the village. For families The Big Sheep and Milky Way are nearby and the renowned cobbled fishing village of Clovelly is well worth a visit. Or there is shopping outlet if some shopping therapy is required. This three storey property offers welcoming accommodation with some attractive period features, not least the exposed beams and the imposing stone fireplace in the lounge/diner which now contains a wood burner effect fire. To one side of the room, there is a dining table seating four/five, whilst in the sitting area there are comfortable sofas from which to enjoy the TV and DVD. The galley style kitchen, meanwhile, is equipped with an oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, and washing machine. On the first floor of the cottage, guests will find two of the three bedrooms, the first of these being a king size room which boasts attractive estuary views and its own TV. The second bedroom on this floor is a single room, whilst a twin bedroom can be found on the second floor of the property, which is accessed via steep cottage style stairs leading directly into the room. The top floor twin room is a real hideaway with super views across the estuary and with TV and Nintendo WII available to entertain those kids! The bathroom, which is on the first floor, offers a shower over bath and WC. Outside, there is a patio courtyard garden to the rear of the property, with a table and chairs providing a great space to enjoy al fresco drinks. There is also a handy WC located off the courtyard also containing a small freezer. As is typical in the village, there is no parking attached to the property, however, there is roadside parking available locally..
