The area abounds with great little market towns and the inn is within walking distance from the ancient Tretower Castle. Enjoy exploring independent minded Crickhowell, which is within easy reach for your morning paper. Hay on Wye, of international renown for its annual literary festival, has numerous book and antique shops. Brecon and Abergavenny have Michelin restaurants and fabulous food and jazz festivals respectively, and, there are certainly plenty of places to potter about and soak up the character of the area. The more adventurous will enjoy day trips to the majestic waterfalls, walks along the mountain ridgelines, fishing on the River Usk, canoeing on the River Wye, or zippng across the fields at the local Adventure Training and watersports centre in Llangorse.
