The larger town of Ambleside is around a fifteen minute drive away and is the departure point for a number of popular cruises on Lake Windermere. The location of the property means that it is a wonderful base for anyone who wants to make the most of the regions walking routes and there are even walks directly from the cottage itself. Nearby Coniston water is a great place for visitors to try their hand at a range of water sports, including paddle boarding, canoeing, windsurfing and rowing. This beautiful property makes a wonderful base to return to after a busy day of sightseeing, walking, climbing or water sports, offering a restful countryside retreat. On entering the property, guests come immediately to the stylish and sunny kitchen/diner which is well equipped with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher, A kitchen island offers a great place to prepare meals, perhaps whilst watching the TV. The dining area, at the far end of this room, is especially light, as it surrounded by windows on three sides. Just off from this room, guests will find a separate utility room, with a WC, washer, and tumble dryer. The lounge has some lovely original features, including the beamed ceiling and stone fireplace, which now houses a cosy wood burner. Comfortable chairs and sofas here make it a great place to relax whilst watching the TV and DVD. To the first floor of the property, there are three bedrooms. Two of these are double rooms, each with its own TV/DVD and en suite shower room with WC. The third bedroom is an attractive twin room. The main bathroom, which is also on the first floor, has a shower over the bath and WC. Outside, the property has a good sized garden which benefits from both patio and lawn areas, beyond which the property also has ownership of an extended area of land with trees. It is even possible to follow the path straight from the property into the nearby village of Hawkshead. A thoughtful additional feature out here is a convenient drying room where guests can leave their walking clothes and shoes to dry out. There is off road parking for two cars.
