The local Smugglers Caves offer a glimpse back in time to when smuggling was big business, or enjoy a stroll along the refurbished Hastings pier, winner of the 2017 Pier of the Year award. Slightly further afield is the pretty medieval town of Rye with its cobbled streets and pretty tearooms or take a trip to Battle Abbey to experience the most famous battle in history in 1066.
