Coniston Water, which is the ideal place for trying out a whole host of watersports is also twenty miles away, whilst Esthwaite Water is a smaller lake, situated between Lake Windermere and Coniston Water, close to which is the beautiful village of Near Sawrey, a favourite with visitors to the area as it is the location for Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter which is lovingly maintained by the National Trust. On arrival at this wonderfully romantic cottage, guests will come first to the kitchen, which although modest in size, offers everything that guests will need to make themselves at home including a microwave and fridge/freezer, whilst the AGA oven and hob can be found taking pride of place in the cosy living room. There is small dining table here, perfect for enjoying candle lit dinners, as well as an armchair and inviting sofa where guests can snuggle up in the evenings and enjoy a film on the TV. A door opens onto the stairs which lead up to the beautifully finished bedroom on the first floor. A peaceful retreat from the outside world, this room, with its king size bed and stylish shabby chic furniture, guests will enjoy a good night s sleep and wake up to the stunning views across the countryside. The shower room with WC can be found next to the bedroom. Outside, there is a traditional cottage garden to the front of the cottage, which is a lovely spot to sit out and enjoy the peaceful surroundings from the garden furniture provided.
