Wood burner (first basket of logs included October April; kindling and firelighters not included). Wi Fi included. Smart TV and Bluetooth sound system. Selection of books, DVDs, games and puzzles in lounge. Off road parking to the rear of the property with additional parking on the village lane in front. Staircase is steep and winding with narrow treads, children to take care, stairgate available. Guests are welcome to take their own travel cot and highchair for infants. Enclosed garden with seating. Stand for small disposable BBQs (BBQs not supplied) only due to thatch roof. Local pub and shops 0.3 miles.

Beaminster Museum is an accredited local history museum open from April to November with a selection of historical exhibitions about the village and the local area as well as some more obscure displays. Down the road (2 miles) is Mapperton House, which is a beautiful 16th century manor house with gorgeous gardens full of plants and flowers a must see for any nature or architecture lover. The stone cottage is accessed up two steps into the porch where there is space to store your coats and boots after a day s walking or exploring. The porch leads into the beautiful double aspect living room which has oak flooring in keeping with the property s age, cosy wood burner, window seats to appreciate the views, Smart TV, Bluetooth sound system and a selection of games and puzzles for entertainment indoors. The spacious and bright kitchen has a traditional Belfast sink, beech worktops, an iPod dock and all the modern conveniences needed for preparing and cooking a family meal. There is a breakfast table for kitchen dining and a tiled floor which extends into the conservatory/dining room. There are glazed French doors out into the garden. Downstairs there is also the family bathroom with a shower over the bath, sink and WC. On ascending the stairs, which are steep and winding with narrow treads, you will find the two bedrooms, a king size double and a twin, with fantastic views over the surrounding hills, both with window seats. The bedrooms are in the eaves of the property and have exposed beams, a classic period feature. The cottage benefits from underfloor heating in the bathroom and electric heaters throughout the main house to keep you extra cosy on colder nights. The outside space at this cottage is just as stunning as the inside of the property. The front has a low retaining stone wall decorated with a variety of shrubs and flowers. A side path and six steps lead you to the rear garden. The enclosed garden features a lovely lawn with flower borders and shrubbery, head down the winding gravelled path and you will be able to access the terrace and pergola area, ideal for eating out and enjoying the sunshine. There is off road parking to the rear of the property which can be accessed through a gate at the end of the garden and there is additional parking on the village lane to the front..
