Alternatively pack a picnic and take the half hour drive to the seaside resort of Nairn (19.5 miles). Visit beautiful Cawdor Castle and explore its stunning gardens (14 miles) or drive out to the National Trust Scotland visitor centre at Culloden Battlefield to learn about the last pitched battle on British soil. No visit to Speyside is complete without visiting one of the distilleries take a tour around Glen Ord Distillery (15 miles) and enjoy a taste of the famous whisky. Upon entering this charming property, via a shared entrance porch, the hall welcomes you into the cosy lounge. With a large sofa and two armchairs this is a comfortable space in which to relax after a day out exploring the beautiful city of Inverness.
