The Forest of Dean is steeped in history with ancient oak woodlands, pine forests and wildlife, and caters well for both walking and cycling. For historians you can step back in time at Clearwell Caves or Hopewell Colliery. Spoilt for choice with market towns, as both Monmouth and Ross on Wye are within easy reach. Ross on Wye is hailed as the birthplace of modern tourism with its 17th century market house and Monmouth the birthplace of Henry V Enjoy the views across the hedgerows as you travel the lanes before arriving at the barn, set within the grounds of a small holding where a pair of donkeys will be there to greet you. Step inside the hallway where you can leave your boots behind, a light and airy space with WC. Off the hallway you will find a kitchen/diner, perfect for entertaining with vaulted ceilings and exposed A frame. The kitchen has a traditional shaker style and is well equipped with electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A large space for dining with table and chairs. For relaxing there are two reception areas, a games/reading room with TV and good selection of board games and books, this gives access to the main lounge where you can relax in front of the TV after a day exploring. When the day is done you will find two bedrooms accessed off the lounge via a small hallway. One bedroom has a Super king size zip and link (that can be made into a twin on request when booking) with an en suite shower and WC. The other bedroom has a king size bed with en suite shower and WC. During the colder months you will enjoy the under floor heating. Outside an open aspect garden with table and chairs and a BBQ for summer dining. There is off road parking for two cars and bike storage. A dog anchor is provided. Note that there are only two steps into the house and one inside (this one can have a custom made ramp fitted), so it is ideal for those who are slightly infirmed..
