If you fancy a day out at the seaside, the coast is an easy day trip away, from the charming seaside town of Filey, north up through to Whitby. The cottage is approached through the garden, hence it's name. Follow the path through the beautifully kept and lovingly designed flower and vegetable beds. Step into the vestibule and hang your coat and head through into the cottage which is furnished with an eclectic mix of antique and artisan, stylish design led pieces, which together create a truly relaxing, homely and fascinating place to stay. The lounge is a really cosy place with a wood burner and Smart TV, ideal for curling up to watch a movie. If reading a book in peaceful surroundings is what you are after then this is the perfect spot. Head through to the brand new for 2020 kitchen, superbly equipped with electric hob/double oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a bread maker. Gather at the breakfast table for mealtimes or head outside to dine in the gorgeous garden. There are two bedrooms to choose from; the "landscape room" with super king size zip and link (which can be made into a twin upon request) or the "portrait room" with same super king size zip and link and en suite shower room with WC. In the separate bathroom, relax in a hot bath after a long day exploring the Yorkshire countryside, feeling utterly relaxed and "away from it all". The garden is a real feature of the cottage, with shrub and herbaceous borders and gorgeous sustainable teak dining furniture for al fresco meals. The typical cottage garden style planting provides a mix of fruit, vegetables and flowers, with cherry trees, shrubs and bulbs, all topped off with a little alpine rock garden and some bonsai! It s a true delight for those who enjoy a beautiful garden. Guests can enjoy the chance to collect eggs from our five friendly hens and are welcome to harvest and eat any of the vegetables that are ready during your stay at the cottage.
