Fishing can be booked at nearby Mangerton Lake and just 2 miles away is the small town of Beaminster which offers a good range of local amenities, or head 3.5 miles south to popular Bridport, which is known as the gateway to the Jurassic Coast. This vibrant town has a weekly market, a great selection of independent shops, coffee shops and restaurants, as well as a thriving selection of boutiques selling antiques and vintage curios, should you wish to seek out some treasures. Heading a mile further south from Bridport will bring you to the popular coastal resort of West Bay. The swathes of pebble beach offer spectacular views over Golden Cap and wonderful walks along the South West Coast Path. Boat trips also run from the working harbour around the coast to Lyme Regis. This pretty town is well worth a visit and is home to charming cobbled streets, ice cream coloured houses and plenty of galleries to browse.
