Walks lead from the door into the surrounding countryside, but for something a little more challenging, Brecon is just 5 miles away, providing you with a gateway to miles of great walks and cycling through the Brecon Beacons. Alternatively, a gentler experience can be found in the literary town of Hay on Wye, 12 miles east, where you can explore the quaint streets of this historic town of books . Stepping into this period property is like stepping back in time, with many of the original features still on show. Heavy wood beams and exposed stonework give a real sense of the building s history, augmented by a large inglenook fireplace housing an open wood burner in the sitting room, and an old fashioned range and bread oven that is still used as a fireplace in the kitchen. On cooler days the warmth from these fires creates a truly cosy atmosphere, inviting you to curl up on the sofas in front of your favourite movie or TV show. At the end of the day, a steep flight of wooden stairs takes you up to the property s two bedrooms. The first is a small double, and the second is a family bedroom with a double and two single beds. The bathroom is also found on the first floor, and offers both a bath and a shower. While sitting in front of the fire is a joy on chilly days, when the sun s shining you will want to head outside and enjoy the large, walled, grassy garden.
