For a more challenging walk, take on the mighty Pen Y Fan (14 miles), the highest peak in southern Britain, which offers jaw dropping views from its summit. Head west to reach the picturesque Usk Reservoir (4.5 miles), a wonderful spot for cycling, stone skimming, picnics, fishing and walking. Or, for amenities, head east to reach the market town of Brecon (12 miles).
