Dating back to Viking times, the pretty village of Haverigg is known for its sandy beaches, historic harbour, restored lighthouse and the Escape to Light sculpture. Haverigg is also home to the RSPB s Hodbarrow Nature Reserve, where you may spot great crested grebes and little terns as well as natterjack toads and an array of rare plants including marsh orchids and bee orchids. To the north is the summit of Black Combe which offers stunning panoramic views (5.5 miles). Other local attractions include Duddon Mosses National Nature Reserve (11 miles) and Swinside Stone Circle (7 miles). On entering this delightful cottage, the welcoming hallway leads you through to the fresh and relaxing lounge/diner.
