Further Details

Access exciting trails through ancient woodland from your doorstep, or plan an excursion to nearby Bassenthwaite Lake 2.5 miles away to soak up the scenery. A short 3.5 mile drive will bring you into Keswick, a delightful market town with a wide range of shops and eateries as well as a popular museum and a theatre on the shores of Derwentwater. Set against a backdrop of trees and mountains, the property is reached along a quiet country lane. An attractive oak porch leads into the traditional style kitchen, a spacious room with slate floors, beams and antique furniture that has a surprisingly contemporary range of equipment including a double oven, induction hob, fridge and dishwasher as well as bespoke cabinetry and storage space. Next, the utility room is ideal for storing muddy coats and shoes and has a washing machine, dryer, butlers sink and a freezer. Grab a hot drink and venture into the comfortable lounge to relax by the wood burner, appreciating the comfortable sofas and the TV. There is a separate snug complete with a second wood burner, seating and a TV/DVD, so no need to disagree on what to watch. Finishing off the ground floor is the family bathroom with its freestanding bath and WC. This room used to be the larder, so you ll spot interesting features such as the original meat hooks on the ceiling. The wide staircase has numerous turns and steps leading into each bedroom, so take great care when ascending. There are four bedrooms in total, the first being a master suite with a king size bed, pretty views and a handy en suite shower room with a shower and WC. The double bedroom also has an en suite shower room, although this one features a rain head style shower and a WC, and further along the hallway is a twin bedroom with zip and link beds that can be converted into a super king on request. Finally, the bunk bedroom features an adult size single bed and bottom bunk. Heading outside, the garden at the front of the farmhouse offers fully enclosed lawn space for children to play, whilst to the rear, there is a large patio area with garden furniture and a built in BBQ. Sit back and unwind with a glass of wine looking out over the countryside surrounding the property, or take advantage of the excellent walking routes leading to the nearby forest..
