Please note the stairway leading up to the first and second floors is quirky. Whilst safe, the winding staircase has a handrail but is narrow and small children would need to be closely supervised on the stairs.. Shops and pubs 0.5 miles.

At Lingholm, visit the walled garden that inspired Beatrix Potter, at Hawse End take a stroll up Catbells via Rowling End, or jump off at Lodore to see the waterfall before treating yourself to a cream tea at the hotel. Rising above nearby Braithwaite is the mountainous Whinlatter Forest, home to paths, bike trails and Go Ape great for adrenaline junkies.
