Please note that access to the cottage is via an unfenced farm track surrounded by fields. Cows live in the fields in July and August, sheep at other times of the year.

7 miles further, Kirkby Stephen has a range of vibrant, independent shops and cafes, the perfect place to stop for a cuppa and cake. Avid historians can visit Brough Castle, 8 miles away, or the Stainmore Railway Company museum in Kirkby Stephen. The walk around Stenkrith Park passes through old woodland and there is a great wild swimming spot at the far end of the park. The nearest lake is Haweswater, 20 miles away, surrounded by the Mardale fells and there is some fantastic walking here. The Lake District National Park is ideal for all outdoor pursuits, with Lake Windermere 24 miles away, making this a fantastic base for your holiday. Bright and cheerful throughout, there is a sunny welcome at this charming, stone cottage which has lovely views towards the Howgill Fells. All on one floor and with a ramp leading to the entrance, this home from home is suitable if anyone in your group has limited mobility. Step into the hallway and leave your coats and boots behind, and head through to the open plan living space. With vibrant walls complemented with bright cushions and pretty artwork, this is the heart of the house. The sofa and armchairs are perfectly positioned to make the most of the view and, on chilly evenings, the electric fire creates a warming ambience as you watch one of the DVDs. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and plenty of storage space. The bedrooms are bright yet cosy with large windows that make the most of the views. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, which both share a shower room. Outside the private terrace has views towards the Howgill Fells and garden furniture where you can relax with a coffee in the morning and a glass of wine as the sun goes down.
