Climbers can head to the peaks of Skiddaw and Grisedale Pike (both 5 miles), while walkers and cyclists can discover the stunning surroundings of Derwentwater (1 mile) and Bassenthwaite Lake (4 miles). Also within easy reach are the Georgian town of Cockermouth (13 miles) and the lakes of Ullswater (14 miles) and Buttermere (9.5 miles). Entering the cottage via the back door, you will find a handy porch area / utility room which makes an ideal space for leaving coats and muddy boots. The washing machine and tumble dryer are also stored here. A couple of steps lead down from the hall and into the stylish kitchen which features traditional slate flooring and is fully equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven and hob, coffee machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. The cosy lounge is full of character and retains its original impressive brick and stone fireplace and Victorian chequerboard floor tiling. Featuring a Smart TV, DVD, wood burner and plenty of seating, the lounge is a fantastic space to relax in at the end of a great day out. Offering views of Skiddaw and Carl Side, the dining room is a perfect spot for you to gather and enjoy a favourite family meal. This room also has a painted dresser with a selection of games, jigsaws and books about the area. The ground floor also has a handy shower room and a separate WC. A steep cottage style staircase curves up to the first floor where there are two lovely, tastefully furnished and charmingly decorated bedrooms, each with plenty of storage space. The spacious king size master bedroom has dual aspect windows looking out to Skiddaw and Carl Side. The pretty twin room also has dual aspect windows, looking out to Skiddaw and Latrigg.
