Pick a section of the cinder track, an off route trail for cycling, and travel north to Whitby (6 miles) or south to Scarborough (15 miles). A fine, Grade II listed, former school house crammed with character behind its stone exterior retaining much of its period charm such as pretty mullioned windows, fireplaces and spirelet.
