Weymouth is only 6 miles away and has a sandy beach backed by shops, cafés, and restaurants, and the old harbour is worth a visit, where you can try your hand at fishing or take a boat trip. Those wishing to delve into local history can explore the Victorian Nothe Fort and the ancient ruins of the cliffside Sandsfoot castle. Other places of interest are Abbotsbury, 4 miles away, and Bridport, Burton Bradstock, and the Isle of Portland are within 15 miles. A further steep flight of stairs takes you up into the eaves of the property and to a stylish bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Due to the age of the property, there are some areas of restricted head height throughout, which only adds to its character and charm. A door leads from the rear hallway into the garden. There is a patio area with comfortable seating and a fire pit adjacent to the cottage and a path leads up into the cottage style garden and a further patio area with furniture which is ideal for dining.
