Take the coastal paths to nearby Seahouses (2 miles) and catch a boat trip to the Farne Islands. Walk to Bamburgh (5 miles) for the beautiful castle and beach, drive to Holy Island (19 miles) and visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Take the narrow staircase up to the second floor for the observatory room furnished with easy chairs and binoculars so you can take full advantage of the stunning views of the bay with Dunstanburgh Castle beyond. Outside, the sheltered, low walled garden is great for children and has a picnic style table and seating perfect for al fresco dining.
