Footpaths and bridleways abound, the walk from Hartington down Beresford and Wolfscote Dales, alongside the River Dove and onto Dovedale, is rightly considered to be one of the finest in the area. Excellent use can be made of the extremely scenic bus service which passes through local villages, enabling walkers to catch a bus out and walk back to the cottage. Stepping into the cottage leads you into the cosy lounge which has comfy seating and an armchair just waiting for you to sink into after a hard day's hiking and exploring.
