  • "The house was really lovely but it could have been cleaner."

    When we cooked every item we needed to use had to be cleaned again by us as it was dirty or not cleaned properly that’s my only criticism for the price we paid I would aspect that.

The property

Approaching the property, you will find convenient off-road parking for three cars on the shared driveway, as well as an additional space in the garage, before unloading your bags and stepping into the superb house to begin your holiday.

Be welcomed into the spacious sitting room, where you can enjoy a family film night on the Smart TV, as you put your feet up to relax in front of the woodburning stove.

If you would prefer a little privacy, you can also opt to unwind in the homely snug and unwind in front of the TV on the plush sofa bed.

Delight in cooking up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen which has everything you could need during your stay, including an additional dining area and a handy dishwasher making cleaning up a breeze.

Gather around the dining table to enjoy the fruits of your labour as you toast to a wonderful holiday.

After a day of exploring, pop any sandy clothes for a spin in the ready to use washing machine in the utility, saving the need to do washing once you arrive home.

Completing the ground-floor is a cloakroom, where guests can freshen up before setting off for the day.

When sleep calls, climb the open-tread stairs to the first-floor where you will discover five bedrooms, all tastefully decorated and echoing the high standard furnishings of the rest of the property the first being a king-size with en-suite shower room and dressing room, ideal for getting ready for the day in complete privacy, with balcony seating area overlooking the garden.

There are also three additional king-size bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room and a further bunk room, ensuring flexible sleeping arrangements for all parties.

Before settling down for the evening, enjoy a long soak in the deep bath with your favourite book and let all your muscle aches slip away.

Sip your morning coffee in the large, lush garden and enjoy the sounds of nature as you prepare for an evening of fun and barbecuing.

Venture down to explore the local village of Millbrook, where you will find a good selection of well-stocked shops, pubs, cafes and a couple of restaurants for when you don’t feel like cooking.

Also, there are more restaurants and pubs in Kingsand and Cawsand.

Take a leisurely stroll around the Millbrook Dam where you can expect fantastic scenery and a glimpse of the local wildlife.

Make a stop at The Byre Gallery in the village centre, where you can expect a warm welcome and beautiful artwork and jewellery which is available to purchase, a wonderful souvenir to remember your trip by.

Iroko walls have large photo canvases of local scenes from a local photographer that are available to buy as a souvenir.

Just a short drive away is the remarkable 16th-century Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park where you can view a wide variety of art, tapestries and porcelain, as well as the picturesque formal grounds.

Pack up a picnic and head to the beautiful beach of Whitsand Bay, where you can expect three miles of glorious sand with rock pools speckled along the beach and the Adventure Bay surf school, where you can hire boards, take lessons, or try coasteering, and the historical landmark of Whitsand Bay Fort, which provides spectacular views over the bay.

For a wider selection of amenities and attractions, head to the city of Plymouth, which can be accessed via a scenic drive or ferry from the beautiful beaches of Cawsand and Kingsand.

You will be spoilt for choice for things to do, with the delightful Royal William Yard, set on a beautiful marina and housing a good selection of restaurants and shops in its 1800’s buildings, it is a visual feast.

Treat the kids to a day out at the National Marine Aquarium where they can enjoy meeting an array of marine life in an art-deco setting.

Sample the local delights at the Plymouth Gin Distillery, where you can take a tour, enjoy a cocktail or food in the bar area, or purchase your favourite tipple to take home in the shop.

MILLBROOK

Whitsand Bay 1 mile; Plymouth 8 miles.

Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that leads to the Hamoaze, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner". Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views of Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.
