    lovely village with a great cafe and two lively pubs. The house suited our needs however it would be improved with a larger dinning room table.

Helmsley 4 miles; York 20 miles; Scarborough 35 miles.

The unspoilt village of Ampleforth lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, and is made up of a scattering of traditional houses, two pubs, a tea room and the local village shop. There are several highly-rated restaurants within the surrounding area, while the market town of Helmsley is just a short drive away with two Italian restaurants, a curry house, two hotels and two pubs. The quiet country roads are ideal for cyclists wishing to explore the hidden villages of the area, while the National Park to the north offers unique, spectacular moorland scenery and a variety of walks and cycle paths. With nearby Pickering and its steam trains to the north, Castle Howard less than 15 miles away and Scarborough and the East Coast only 35 miles away, Ampleforth is in the perfect location for a varied yet relaxing holiday.
