Our aim is to create lasting holiday memories and we intend to do so both responsibly and sustainably.
To deliver on this we've set out a number of environmental and social pledges which help to focus our efforts;

This is why we've partnered with Sustonica, the first global certification for holiday lets,
to support our owners to be more sustainable.
The Sustonica certification focuses on four key areas: energy conservation, water conservation,
waste reduction and promoting inclusiveness. They are on a mission to become the most widely

Properties that display the Sustonica badge have successfully passed the criteria,

and their owner has made a commitment to look after our planet as well as you.
"Had a lovely stay with everything you need for a comfortable stay."
Great size kitchen big bedrooms and lots of cupboard space and towels. Great location handy for local shops .pubs and church.
Would highly recommend this place. My sister actually stayed here last year with a family group so it was a no brainer to book again.
Only suggestion I would make is to list which items are deemed recyclable. As it seems there are different rules in different councils

"It was great."
The house was perfectly clean and well equipped.. Mary Terese was very welcoming and straightforward. It's a great base for visiting Connemara but also to visit the Aran Islands (the airport and port are nearby). Local services (supermarket, pub etc) are a short walk. High recommendation.

"Myself and my two sisters stayed at this house for 5 days."
The home was very clean when we arrived and perfectly suited our needs for the visit.
Mary Theresa came shortly after we arrived to talk us through some bits although I found it unusual not to have a binder or welcome pack explaining where to find things or things to do in the local area, I think this would be helpful. This also meant we were unclear in the expectations when we left such as stripping beds etc.
The decoration in the home is a little dated and whilst clean some parts of fixtures and fittings are broken ( wardrobe doors etc) although this doesn’t really affect a short term stay. One of my sisters struggled with a very lumpy mattress too!
The house is in a good location for day trips out, and there is a shop and a pub a short walk away. There are beautiful views over the lake and a lovely coral beach a short drive away.
Overall a nice house for a short stay in Galway

It is a beautiful home with a well laid out kitchen, spacious living area and the view sitting outside looks onto Galway Bay. I highly recommend this as a place to stay and experience the delights of the Connemara.

"It's a lovely big house overlooking the lake."
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. As we were a party of four (one couple and two singles) we were all able to have a bedroom at the front with a lake view.
The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space in all the bedrooms.
The living room has very comfortable reclining furniture and a large screen television. It could do with a few more side tables though, because it's a bit of a faff having to keep unreclining to reach your glass of wine. We got round this problem by moving some of the bedside tables from the spare bedrooms into the living room for the duration of our stay.
The kitchen is well-stocked with crockery, cutlery and glassware. The dishwasher was very useful, but probably coming to the end of its life. It looks very old and makes some interesting noises when in use. Despite that, it didn't let us down. As there were only four of us, we ate our meals at the smaller table in the kitchen, but there is a bigger table in the back room.
The bathrooms are reasonably spacious and well sticked with towels. We had a problem with one of the loos being blocked/not flushing. Mary responded quickly and a plumber came and fixed the problem.
There is a lovely verandah at the front and side of the house with furniture and a barbecue. We were fortunate enough with the weather (despite it being October) to be able to sit out and enjoy the view.
The village has a few pubs. We particularly like the one at the end of the road where we enjoyed the live music on the Friday night. There are several takeaways and a fabulous Chinese restaurant.
The small supermarket is well-stocked. They sell excellent freshly prepared meals that are a good value and low effort alternative to eating out. We had the lasagne one evening and sausages and potato au gratin on another. Both were very good.
Galway, Cong and Clifton are all a scenic drive and day-trip distance away and you can catch a ferry (approximately 10 minutes drive away) to the Aran Isles. We had a very enjoyable trip to Inis Mor.

Two things that could be improved, instructions on how to work second shower for when cavemen stop , we didn't know you had to have the heating on, and some small items in the fridge for arrival such as coffee / milk / sugar, don't need to be a giant jar but enough to last you till the morning. Overall a brilliant base to tour on your motorbike like we did

"Aras Losgan was a wonderful place to stay for our week in Galway as part of our Wild Atlantic Way trip."
The house itself was comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed, including lots of space, a full kitchen, washer and dryer and a clothes line, a huge tv, big comfortable seats, and lots of parking. A real home from home.
Carraroe itself is relatively small, but has a decent small supermarket, and a truly wonderful cafe in Bia Blasta, a must stop for us every day- their baking is out of this world. The town is also slightly off the beaten track, relaxed and very friendly, which suited us down to the ground.

"We had a fabulous experience at Aras Iosgan."
Mary was a great host - there if we needed her. The house is exactly as described. The kitchen is superbly equipped and there are plenty of towels for the bathroom which was very helpful with two children! Mary also provided a cot and high chairs which was great. The sitting room sofas are large and comfy. Aras Iosgan is a brilliant base for exploring connemara and if you want to check out the Aran Islands the ferry is less than 10 mins drive away. Less than 5 minutes walk into the village where you will find an excellently well stocked Eurospar (good gluten free and dairy free selection too). The chinese restaurant is excellent, so good infact that my husband and I went twice!
Aras Iosgan is a Hidden gem and would definitely recommend to others.
Ps - For anyone wondering if 30EUR is enough for the meter. We had more than half the money left on the meter upon leaving. Thats with 6 showers a day, cooking breakfast and dinner most days plus there was one day we stayed at home all day. Hope that helps
