Richard also advised us on local sites , places to visit and places to eat locally. The property was exactly as described in a fantastic central location to explore Devon and Cornwall. Lydford Gorge is highly recommended as is The Castle Inn in Lydford.

The property

Bridestowe 3.4 miles.

This detached cottage is situated in the grounds of a mill house in Combebow.

Set in 54 acres of woods and meadows, it is a wonderfully peaceful retreat.

You enter the open plan living space, all modern and carefully presented with a comfy seating area, a dining area and a step up to the kitchen area.

Head on upstairs to your two cosy bedrooms under the eaves, which share the bathroom on the ground floor.

To enjoy the birdsong and peace, sit out in your enclosed garden at the front of the cottage, which is lovingly tended with its willow den and arbour draped with wisteria, and enjoy the views over the surrounding woodland whilst you cook supper on the barbecue.

Wander the grounds to spot wildlife and marvel at the 12th century mill with its original machinery.

The open slopes of Dartmoor nearby are perfect for walking too or visit Lydford Gorge, a stunning natural beauty spot.

The towns of Launceston and Okehampton are lively places for browsing shops or eating out.

With easy access to the A30 through Devon and Cornwall, Honey House is an excellent base for exploring the delights of the West Country.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
