A 200 year old stone cottage located on the edge of the pretty village of Castleton. Full of character with exposed beams and splendid views across the valley, it's also great for keen walkers.
This semi detached stone cottage is some 200 years old and is tucked away on the edge of the village at the hidden entrance to Cavedale a picturesque valley below Peveril Castle. It is ideally suited for walking from the door short or long or just enjoy a stroll into the village. Various local cafes bars and eating places with a good choice all within an easy walk of the cottage. A visit to Edale offers some challenging walks at the beginning of the Pennine Way. You enter the cottage through the stable door into the lounge with character beamed ceiling feature stone wall and the gas coal log effect stove inset in a gritstone fireplace. A single step up takes you into the well equipped kitchen dining area with all the essential equipment you will require for your stay a rear door takes you out to the terraced rear garden and adjoining room suitable for occasional storage. A single flight of stairs from the lounge lead to the landing a further step taking you to the main bedroom with feature beamed vaulted ceiling and a double bed. The second bedroom has a single bed. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, toilet and hand basin. The gardens exist on several levels to the side and rear of the property with splendid views across Castleton roof tops to the Great Ridge and Mam Tor Bronze age hill fort. Please note this property is note suitable for babies or children under 10 years old due to the steep stairs. Need to know: Two bedrooms: one double bedroom, one single bedroom. One bathroom. Gas coal effect fire. No pets. Internet access. Off road parking for one car in a tight space, plenty of on road parking. Electric oven and hob. Microwave. Fridge with freezer compartment.
