Enjoy the best of Dorset’s country and coast at Little Perhay, a former farm cottage which has been lovingly refurbished to offer comfortable and characterful year-round holiday accommodation perfect for both couples and families. Set amongst colourful mature gardens and boasting delightful views over the surrounding rolling countryside, the cottage is only a few miles drive from the coast as well as the bustling market town of Bridport. Located along a farm track in the small West Dorset hamlet of Waytown, about 5 miles from the coastal fishing harbour of West Bay and just a 10 minute walk from the original River Cottage where Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall`s TV career was first launched. The cottage is set in a small terrace of four former farm cottages in exceptionally beautiful and peaceful countryside. On a clear night the lack of light pollution makes it the perfect spot for star-gazing. The hamlet has a traditional country pub (about 5 minutes’ walk by footpath from the cottage) and is a haven for walkers with a network of footpaths covering the surrounding countryside. The cottage is just a short drive to the sea and the whole of the stunning West Dorset and East Devon coastline, famous for its Jurassic fossils, is within easy reach. There are many quiet villages to be discovered in the surrounding countryside and Bridport with its shops and cafes is just a few minutes’ drive away.
Little Perhay won’t fail to delight with modern facilities with a hint of Moroccan flair whist retaining plenty of original country character. The welcoming lounge with its beamed ceiling, flagstone floor and feature inglenook fireplace inset with a wood burning stove is perfect to snuggle up in. This leads into a light and bright dining kitchen with a large picture window with wonderful far reaching views over the fields beyond. The large table can comfortably seat six guests. Upstairs two bedrooms are furnished with comfortable beds and enjoy pleasant views. The sparkling shower room has a unique Moroccan sink. There is a lovely sunny garden to the front of the cottage to enjoy, and guests are also free to use a nearby field area for picnics. From time to time the friendly owners will have fresh produce from their garden available.
