Originally a barn, the property has been lovingly restored to a high standard and now provides a most delightful single-storey holiday home for the most discerning guests. With bags of character, there are flagged floors throughout and the open-plan living area has high pitched ceilings with the original exposed timbers, a well-equipped galley-style kitchen and a cosy sitting area. The double bedroom leads off the living area, whilst two small steps lead up to the modern bathroom and the second bedroom. Comfortably furnished to a high standard, the cottage has a lovely homely feel and will be a pleasure to come back to after a days exploring. Outside, there is a private enclosed sunny garden to the rear of the property, where one can sit and relax with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. A few minutes stroll along the side of the beck brings you into the centre of this most picturesque village, with an array of interesting shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. There are numerous walks straight from the door, while nearby bustling Pickering hosts the terminus of the famous North York Moors Steam Railway, which winds its way through heather clad moors to Grosmont and Whitby. Local attractions include Dalby Forest, with its biking and walking tracks, Duncombe Park, Castle Howard and the pretty market town of Helmsley. With the saeside towns of Whitby and Scarborough just a short drive and the spectacular scenery of the national park to discover, this well-placed cottage provides an excellent base any time of the year.

The village of Thornton-le-Dale is situated close to Pickering on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Thornton-le-Dale offers a pretty village green which still has wooden stocks and a market cross, with amenities coming in the form of shops, pubs and tea rooms. Pickering boasts a good range of enhanced amenities and the famous North York Moors Steam Railway is worth a visit, whilst the city of York is within driving distance.
