This is an excellent location for enjoying this stunning area of Northumberland with some of the area's most popular tourist attractions just a short drive away. This former farm worker's cottage has been lovingly restored and is now the perfect place for friends and family to gather together to explore the surrounding area. The front door welcomes you into a large sitting room with comfortable sofas and a woodburning stove, the kitchen/diner beyond is spacious and bright with a range cooker which will bring a smile to the designated chef of the week. The ground floor double bedroom has an adjacent bathroom with both a bath and shower making it perfect for guests who struggle with stairs. To the first floor there are two delightful bedrooms both with TVs and a bright and airy shower room. The garden to the rear has a decking area with the rattan sofa and chairs positioned to make the most of the Northumbrian sunshine. It comes fully enclosed so you can be rest assured your pets and children can play safely under a watchful eye. A short drive takes you to Druridge Bay which boasts a long, golden, crescent shaped beach and a little further north is the busy fishing port of Amble with it’s busy market, marina and popular restaurants. Ideally placed for touring the Heritage Coastline, Gateway Cottage has easy access to all the wonderful castles and beaches this area has to offer, a perfect cottage for that long awaited Northumberland family break.

Widdrington is an ideal base for exploring the county of Northumberland in an area for walkers, cyclists and bird-watchers. The local parish church is Grade I listed and dates to the Norman era, commanded by elevated ruins of the 18th century Widdrington Castle. The country park at Druridge Bay is less than two miles away and the little seaport of Amble, can also be easily reached. A mile south of Amble is beautiful Coquet Island, plus the charming town of Alnwick is further North with its castle and award-winning gardens on offer.
