This lovely 19th century slate workers cottage sits below the imposing steep slopes of Garreg Ddu (meaning Black Rock), the rocky outcrop which defines the northern boundary of Blaenau Ffestiniog and offers a modern and fresh interior, tastefully furnished and decorated throughout whilst still retaining character and charm. Having undergone a comprehensive scheme of refurbishment in 2018, the cottage is well-presented and maintained, decorated in neutral colours and soft warming greys. The sitting room has comfy seating and the wood burning stove provides a great place for everyone to sit, chat and relax after a busy day walking and exploring and the cosy dining area is great for a romantic meal or family breakfast together. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you will need to cater for everyone. Upstairs are three individually styled bedrooms, a double and two singles and a family bathroom which completes the cosy cottage. At the front of the cottage there is parking for one car, bike storage and a gravelled seating area and elevated at the rear, is a decked seating area where you can sit and enjoy a glass of something, taking in the rugged mountainous views over the rooftops on a Summers evening after a day of exploring. Local shops, restaurants, pubs and even a cinema, as well as some fantastic walks are on your doorstep with great access to Snowdonia which offers more wonderful walking opportunities and mountain bike tracks to explore. Blaenau Ffestiniog is home to a host of adrenaline-fuelled activities at Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Zip World Titan (the largest zip zone in Europe), Zip World Caverns and Bounce Below (deep mine zip wires and the largest underground system of trampolines in the world!) and there are some fantastic mountain bike tracks and trails all within easy reach. For something a little less energetic, the well-known Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway is also on your doorstep and will be loved by all. A converted chapel in the centre of the town is home to 'The Little Dragons' soft play fun centre for children 1-12 years and is a great place for some family fun if you find the weather is against you or visit the local 50 seat cinema for an afternoon Matinée. A little further afield, why not visit the Italian village and gardens of Portmeirion, together with historic castles and sandy beaches all within a 20 minute drive away. This charming cottage is ideally placed and provides a great base for a holiday or short break anytime of the year.

The town is home to a number of small supermarkets, local pubs and eateries, as well as railway station providing access to a number of towns and villages across wales. Visit the ancient quarry of Llechwedd, or fly the caves by zip line at Zip World Slate Cavers. It's national park location makes Blaenau Ffestiniog a great place to enjoy scenic strolls and hikes, where you can admire some of the most outstanding landscapes in Wales.
