This area is ideal for walkers, with popular routes including the Old Man of Coniston, which is 3.7 mile walk where you will climb through old quarry workings and walk along Low Water, which is a perfect spot for a picnic. Alternatively, you can take a boat trip on the Windermere lake, for a unique experience of exploring the surrounding mountain peaks, the charming villages and woodland areas. For a spot of shopping, then the market town of Ulverston is nearby. Here you will find a good selection of independent shops, local business, cafés and pubs to enjoy.
