Outside, at the rear of the cottage, is a lovely patio area with your very own private hot tub, perfect for chilling out after a hard day's walking, whilst at the front is another patio which boasts fantastic views down to Esthwaite Water; an ideal spot to sit back and enjoy the peaceful and tranquil landscape. Esthwaite Water has been known to be frequented by osprey that have no doubt been attracted by the pike and trout in the lake, as are fishermen who can fish on the lake by arrangement with the owner. Just a ten minute stroll will take you into the charming village of Hawkshead with its colourful mix of quaint, cobbled yards, whitewashed cottages and interesting shops and cafes to explore. With beautiful paths right from the door leading you through Hawkshead towards Tarn Hows and the delightful Drunken Duck pub, this perfect cottage will be delightful at any time of year.
The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Cars are banned from the village, leaving visitors free to wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th century houses.
