The Turbine house was originally built to provide power to Ellary Estate, the cottage has a quiet peaceful location in the superb Ellary gardens. The charming traditional cottage has been tastefully modernised to provide accommodation with outstanding character. The conversion has included multiple French door to the adjoining decking. The doors allow uninterrupted views of the adjoining policy gardens which are laid out informally including wooded areas; there is also a small burn running through the garden.
Lying between Lochs Sween & Caolisport, surrounded by scenery which has made the West Coast of Scotland famous. The shore consists of rocky outcrops with inlets and sandy beaches, islands and islets and just cries out to be explored. The structure of the rock forms a series of large or small glens and corries which lie in the same direction making walking the hills a sheer delight. Many comment that the same fascination can be experienced on a short walk, not far from the accommodation where they are staying, as from a long expedition into the hills; although it is recommended, for anyone staying more than a few days, to head out to Corrbhan Mor which is the highest point of Ellary and Castle Sween estates to see the most beautiful countryside.
The area is one of outstanding unspoilt natural beauty and Ellary provides the perfect location for a quiet get away from it all peaceful holiday. The choice is yours whether you want a quiet unwind or to sample the wealth of outdoor pursuits on the door step to suitable abilities; the Estate has slipway facilities for small boats and the sailing is excellent Exploring the west coast is also possible with Oban about an hour or so by car to the north.
