A double glazed door leads you out to the small enclosed cottage garden where you can relax with a refreshing drink whilst planning the next day's activities. Stone stairs lead up to the first floor which provides two characterful double bedrooms, a main bathroom with toilet, bath and recessed overhead shower, a single bedroom and a further separate bathroom with toilet with washbasin. The scenery in Upper Wensleydale is without doubt some of the finest on offer in all the Yorkshire Dales. This is walking country par excellence and a stroll alongside the River Ure, as it threads its way between the rocks and the rapids at Aysgarth, is one of those walks that will linger long in the memory. Also, within walking distance is the famous Hardraw Force, England's highest single drop waterfall – set within the grounds of the historic Green Dragon Inn. Hawes is a traditional stone-built market town of character with pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and a very good selection of shops. There are interesting visitor attractions in the town, including a working rope maker, the Dales Countryside Museum and the world famous Wensleydale Cheese Factory. Just short drives away are the market towns of Settle, Leyburn and Richmond, whilst Aysgarth Falls and Semerwater are all nearby. A traditional Dales cottage, ideal for a break whatever the time of year.
Hawes is a popular market town in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire and is regarded as one of the honeypot tourist attractions of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
