Set over two floors, there is a fabulous open plan sitting room with a gas stove, lovely shaker-style kitchen, wooden floor and a leather Chesterfield sofa. With hanging hops adding further character and warmth to the room this is an ideal place to relax after a day walking across the wild and rugged Bronte countryside. The main bedroom boasts a feature double bed with views through an alley way to the village centre and there is an adjoining bathroom and useful single bedroom, styled to provide a holiday retreat of some considerable merit. The elevated patio terrace adjacent to the cottage provides the perfect area to sit outside and relax after exploring the village and surrounding areas. Steeped in literary history and formerly home to the Bronte sisters, Haworth has a lot to offer, from a variety of walks following in the footsteps of Catherine and Heathcliff, to lovely old curiosity shops, delightful cafes and good old fashioned, traditional pubs on the doorstep. Nearby is Skipton, voted as the Best Place to Live in Britain in 2014, with its cobbled streets and delightful castle, while further afield is the interesting old Calderdale town of Hebden Bridge with its hippy culture and fabulous night life. An exciting and interesting place to spend a romantic break.
The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
