Set out on foot to explore the stunning open countryside with its pastures and woodland, stopping for a bite to eat at a local pub along the way. Home to a string of country houses, ruins and market towns, this pocket of Yorkshire boasts the likes of Castle Howard (25 miles), Thirsk (25 miles) and Helmsley (12 miles).
