For day trips visit Daphne du Mauriers Smugglers Museum, Charlestown Shipwreck Centre with artefacts from over 50 different shipwrecks, National Trust Lanhydrock House and gardens with woodland and riverside paths to explore and Pencarrow House and gardens surrounded by lake and picturesque woodlands. Polruan is a quaint little village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging. Many of the amenities, ferries and cottages in Polruan are accessed via steps some of which can be steep. Please contact us if you have specific requirements. There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Polruan do not have private parking. However, there is a large pay and display carpark at the top of the village.
