The village is a mile away, along a quiet country lane. The area is just perfect for walkers and cyclists of all abilities. Offering easy access to the Brecon Beacons for adventurous hiking and the Wye Valley for canoeing, cycling and more gentle walking. Close to the foodie town of Abergavenny with its monthly farmers' market held on the last Thursday of the month, and the renowned Food Festival every September. The area boasts a wealth of excellent restaurants and country pubs. Heading towards the Beacons is the pretty town of Crickhowell, in the Usk Valley and lying on the England/Wales border in the historic town of Monmouth. Take a drive up the Llanthony Valley through the Black Mountains to Hay on Wye with its eclectic range of book shops and the international Literary Festival every May. Lots of family fun around with Pony Trekking, Go Ape , the Big Pit, castles to explore and much more. This traditional detached stone barn offers a warm welcome. Step through the large glazed doors and into the welcoming sitting room. The exposed barn walls and travertine floor complement the contemporary style of furnishing, and the blazing wood burner makes for a cosy evening catching up with friends or watching the TV/DVD. A selection of books and DVD's are available for guests in the lounge perfect for those rainy days! Across the hall lies the kitchen, with a lovely oak table creating a great space for entertaining. Handy stable doors open out into the courtyard which is lovely, private place to eat outside. The kitchen is very well equipped and amply meets the needs of any aspiring chef, and includes electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Also on the ground floor is the utility room with washing machine, and a shower room with WC. Upstairs the large master bedroom is the perfect place to wind down, with a king size bed, chaise longue and sofa. Across the hall is a further double room and a bunk bed room. All the bedrooms have oak floors, beautiful beams and stunning views across the rolling Monmouthshire countryside. Soak up the views over the Welsh hills as you lie back in the bath, the centre piece of this lovely bathroom. Outside there is a private, enclosed courtyard with table, chairs and charcoal BBQ, just perfect for entertaining. Children will enjoy exploring the owners' orchard. Next door to the barn in the boiler room there s a tumble dryer, butler s sink for washing muddy boots and space for bicycle storage and walking kit. There is parking for two cars close to the barn entrance. Need to know: SLEEPS : There are three bedrooms, one with a king size bed, one with a double bed and one bunk bed room. RELAXING : A wood burner and a complimentary basket of logs ensure a cosy and relaxing ambience for all. There is a TV and a DVD player in the lounge and Wi Fi is included. COOKING & DINING : The kitchen has a double electric oven and an induction hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. The utility area has a washing machine. KEEPING CLEAN : There is one large bathroom with a hand held shower and a toilet and a shower room with a toilet. Bedlinen and towels are included. OUTSIDE : Outside there is a private courtyard with tables, seating and a barbeque, as well as lovely shared grounds. Use of the barn is available storage of bikes and walking equipment. A butler s sink is here for washing muddy boots and there is a tumble dryer for quick drying of clean clothes. Near to the entrance is ample private parking available for two cars.
