Llandudno lies between the two headlands of the Great Orme and the Little Orme. The town is popular with tourists and offers two superb beaches;-the North Shore, with its wide promenade and the quieter West Shore, with miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes. For the best views, head to the summit of the 679ft Great Orme, either on foot or by using the Great Orme Tramway or an exciting cable car ride. The town has an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as Venue Cymru, which is North Wales' premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy and visiting orchestras. Nearby is the town of Conwy, with its imposing Medieval castle, surrounded by well-preserved walls. From here, you are within easy reach of the Snowdonia National Park.
