Admire the surroundings of the village before entering into the open-plan living room, where the exposed beams frame everything you could possibly need for a week-long stay, as well as an electric fire for extra warmth during the winter months. Head to the rear of the space to find a compact, yet well-appointed kitchen, where a range of quality appliances are certain to encourage you to whip up a home-cooked dish or prepare a picnic for the next day’s adventure. Settle down for your meals at the dining table before you pull open the map and plan the next route or while away fun-filled hours playing board games brought from home. Afterwards, flick on the fire and snuggle up on the sofa with a good book in hand or take a browse through the channels on the TV. When sleep calls, make your way upstairs, where you will find two well-presented double bedrooms, which are served by a shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC. After a long walk upon the open moorland of Yorkshire, reward yourself with a well-deserved pint at The Lord Nelson Inn, where during summer afternoons you are welcomed to rest in the beer garden and soak up the sunshine; or head to the local shop to pick up some treats and essentials to take back to the cottage. Whilst here, be sure to visit the nearby attractive town of Hebden Bridge, where you will find a larger selection of places to eat and drink, as well as the Calder Holmes Park, the picturesque Rochdale Canal and the pretty Victorian railway station. Venture in the other direction to the town of Halifax, where you will find Eureka! The National Children's Museum, the 600-year-old medieval manor of Shibden Hall and the recently renovated Piece Hall, which is considered to be one of the most remarkable and historic buildings in England. Travel slightly further afield to Haworth, where you can visit Parsonage Museum commemorating the famous Bronte sisters or explore the moorland, which makes a great spot for walkers to discover the Bronte Waterfall and the National Trust owned Hardcastle Crags, a 19th-century mill with a plethora of wooded Pennine valley trails. Bring your loved ones to Cobbler's Cottage to share a memorable break in Yorkshire, recently seen in an episode of Gentlemen Jack the series.
