Alvington is one of a number of hamlets dotted along the River Severn following the former Roman road leading from Newnham on Severn to Chepstow. Set on the edge of the Forest of Dean the village is well served with a well stocked store, two good village pubs and tearoom. Here you can access both the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley easily where you can take full advantage of the walking and cycling that s on your doorstep with the Wye Valley, Gloucestershire Way and Offa s Dyke. And for the more adventurous there is abseiling and kayaking at Symonds Yat, The National diving and activity centre at Tidenham where you can enjoy zip wire rides, water walking and fly boarding as well as diving for all abilities. Forest of Dean Adventure and the mountain biking down hill courses. Chepstow is just 6 miles away a picturesque market town that is steeped in history, where you can explore the castle or relax within the castle grounds. And when the day is done there is a wooden latch door that offers access to a cottage staircase. The first floor offers two bedrooms. A spacious double room with views out onto the gardens.
