Located at the foot of Buckden Pike, and close to the head of Upper Wharfedale, the idyllic village of Buckden is the perfect place to start exploring the scenery and pretty towns of this magnificent Dale. Renowned for its walking routes, this region is home to the famous Dales Way, which passes close to Buckden Pike. Undoubtedly, this is one of the best walking areas in the Dales with Lady Anne Clifford way passing through the village plus the well known triangle walk, taking in the villages Cray and Hubberholme; The Millennium Trail to Starbotton, meandering back along the the banks of the river Wharfe. The village itself offers a variety of pubs within walking distance and a village store but there is plenty of scope to explore the local area. Grassington is a short drive away, famed for its Dickensian Christmas celebrations and the summer festival, or Hawes, the home of Wensleydale cheese.
