Deep in the Lake District countryside at the southern end of Lake Windermere, the rolling hills and valleys round about are ripe for exploration, and you will always have plenty to see and do before returning to the welcoming comfort of your barn. Lakeside nearby has a steamer pier, allowing you to cruise England's longest lake and visit the bustling centres of Bowness and Ambleside to the north. There is a platform here, too, for the wonderful Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, which will draw you by vintage engines into the lush Levens Valley.
