Set over three floors, it offers two beautifully decorated double bedrooms, with super comfy beds and painted wooden floors, two bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower, one with a luxury roll-top bath. The first-floor bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements as a double or twin room. The open plan living area on the ground floor is very sociable, with its well-equipped, beautifully designed kitchen with quarry tile flooring and woodburning stove with stone surround, the dining area opens into a comfortable lounge area with two sofas. Outside, you will find a sheltered courtyard with handy bike storage. Wirksworth is a charming and busy market town and is one of the oldest in this part of the Peak District, where you can find an award-winning restaurant, fine real ale pubs, independent shops that sit alongside two butchers and St Mary’s, a magnificent parish church. There are plenty of scenic walks and cycling trails on offer around the Derwent Valley and White Peak, with cycling at Carsington Water and the High Peak Cycle Trail very close by. The beautiful, historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are nearby as well as the popular town of Matlock Bath, located on the river Derwent and surrounded by woodland, rolling hills and cliffs. Formerly a spa town and famous for its connections with Sir Richard Arkwright and the cotton trade, nowadays Matlock Bath offers a selection of pubs and shops, plus attractions like the World Heritage Site of Arkwright's Cromford Mill, the adventure-filled Gulliver's Kingdom, the Peak District Mining Museum and Heights of Abraham, where a cable car ride allows you to take in the exceptional Peak District views in style, before you get the chance to explore its show caves, nature trail, and Owl Maze.
