The picturesque coastal town of Swanage lies at the tip of the Isle of Purbeck. There is a popular sandy beach and a great selection of shops, cafes and amusements. Backed by the beautiful Purbeck Hills and a gateway town to the Jurassic Coast, this location offers the best of both worlds, with many walking routes weaving through the landscape and along the cliffs. Attractions include Durlston Country Park, the unspoilt white sands of Studland, and Corfe Castle, which is home to castle ruins cared for by the National Trust and accessible by steam train from Swanage. Those wishing to get out on the water can enjoy sailing, water skiing, wind surfing and diving, or relax with a boat trip.
