Just 2.5 miles away is the market town of Kirkby Stephen, which offers shops, restaurants and pubs, while the Settle-Carlisle Railway, the Howgill Fells, Pennines and the ruins of Brough and Pendragon castles are all within easy reach. Also the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the Durham Dales, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are all within a half hour drive. A superb cottage, close to many places of interest.
